The Quick Grab Meal Planning Concept
"Turning Your Freezer Into Cold Hard Cash"

Dear Inner-Circle Subscriber:

As you know I spoke about "The Quick Grab Concept" in my book, The Lavish Cheapskate. and I've put this together for you to further your journey along in freeing up money everyday!

Tip #1: Invest in a small freezer. Today's energy efficiency runs around $35 per year, and you can save tremendously by using it effectively. Here's some tips to maximize your savings...

Tip #2: Take Inventory of What's In Your Refrigerator. Take a look at your refrigerator and see how many foods you currently have in there that may make it to the trash. Make a list of those foods and become fully aware of the money spent on foods that make it to the waste basket.

Tip #3: Prune the foods that typically go bad in the refrigerator from your shopping list. Only buy a 1 to 3 day supply instead of in bulk (unless you can freeze it). Examples are perishables such as fruits and vegetables.

Tip #4: Use the The Quick Grab Concept. The Quick Grab Concept is based on turning your freezer into "cold hard cash." Prepare meals in bulk (rather than single servings for family members). Freeze single serving portions so every family member has a meal to choose from at any given time.

Here's a recap of how to use your freezer to maximize savings...

  • Instead of using your refrigerator as the main storage place of foods, use your freezer.

  • Buy frozen vegetables in bulk, meats on sale in bulk, and stock up that freezer.

  • Dedicate 1 day a week to cook meals (or a couple of evenings). Prepare meals in bulk. In other words, instead of making a small casserole dish, make two larger ones at the same time.

  • Freeze single serving portions and stack them in your freezer.

By freezing this way, you maximize your savings and can cut back on your trips to the grocery store. In addition, you have meals at your fingertips. If you repeat this process, eventually you will have many different meals to choose from each and every day.
