Zucchini and squash both are very low in calories, saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium. It is also a good source of Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6 and Phosphorus, and a great source of dietary fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folate, Magnesium, Potassium, Copper and Manganese.
In most parts of the United states, this is a hearty plant that will grow in most gardens.

Zucchini:
Zucchini is a type of narrow squash that resembles a cucumber in size and shape. It has smooth, thin skin that is either green or yellow in color and can be striped or speckled. Its tender flesh is creamy white in color and features numerous seeds. Usually used in Italian cooking.

Crookneck Squash:
This summer squash generally has a yellow skin (although sometimes you can find them with green skin). Crookneck squash is partially straight with a swan-like neck.
Straightneck Squash:
This squash was genetically altered from crookneck squash and holds the same nutritional benefits of its cousin.
Pattypan Squash:
This small saucer-shaped squash features skin that can either be pale green or golden yellow in color. Its cream-colored flesh is more dense and slightly sweeter than that of zucchini.
